Did you read /usr/share/doc/packages/imap/README.SuSE ?
Thanks for the pointer, and yes I have. :) But I did not read /usr/share/doc/packages/imap/imaprc.txt (Thank you Mitch Thompson for the pointer.) It provides the chicken waving solution for enabling non-secure imap connections. :( (At startup imapd should it at least log that imap non-secure connections are disabled.) I don't need secure, since I'm only going to allow access from localhost, but the chicken waving is said to be subject to change and I don't want to have to troubleshoot this again latter. I'm now usineg the secure method, because it is at least "standard", and if I choose to allow external access it will already be setup. And yes, evolution can now authenticate. Greg
