I have a Compaq Armada M300 laptop, but without a floppy or CD-ROM drive. So, the only way to install SuSE on it is to boot off a TFTP server and install over NFS. Right? OK, I found an article in the SDB that explains how to do it with SLES 8 or SuSE 8.1/8.2 (http://portal.suse.com/sdb/en/2003/06/tsieden_pxe-install.html) I followed the instructions and the notebook boots and gives me the menu of options. I tried the normal 'linux', as well as the 'failsafe' and 'noacpi' options, but the result is the same: The kernel loads, but then it fails on the ramdisk. The following messages are displayed: Loading linux............................... Loading initrd... Boot failed: press a key to retry, or wait for reset... I use the initrd from CD1/boot/loader Are there another one I should use? What could the problem be?
