I assume you are "root" when running this. If you are, check that that file does exist, and try to delete it manually. If you can't, it is posible you have a corrupted filesystem, and you need to repair it. If it is a reiserfs, it has been comented on this list a few times.
Carlos, I can find the file /etc/X11/susewm/kde_tmp_dir_old/Settings/YaST/notinstalled/Graphics/Viewer/ but this is empty. Should I try to remove it or is this telling me I have a corruted file system.
I can not be sure if you system is corrupted. However, if you are running suseconfig as root, and as root can do anything, it is possible that your file system is corrupted. This has been reported on the list by some other people using reiserfs partitions.
In order to test for that, copy that file to a temporary place and delete it (as root). If you get a permission denied, I would suspect corruption. Not sure, but suspicious.
Carlos, this is the result of trying rmdir as root> linux:/home/dbtrol # rmdir /etc/X11/susewm/kde_tmp_dir_old/Set alled/Graphics/Viewer/
rmdir: `/etc/X11/susewm/kde_tmp_dir_old/Settings/YaST/notinsta er/': Directory not empty linux:/home/dbtrol #
If I copy the file and try to delete the copy all goes okay.
