I found some reference to a tool called beagle (desktop search tool akin to google desktop for linux).
They suggest here http://www.beaglewiki.org/index.php/Installing%20Beagle that you can install this using the following commands:
For users of SUSE 9.1, SUSE 9.2 and Novell Linux Desktop 9, snapshot packages of all Beagle requirements can be found on the segfault.cam.novell.com open carpet server. Simply type:
# rug sa http://segfault.cam.novell.com/ # rug sub mdes
unfortunately, rug is not installed on my system.
So my questions are:
0) Is beagle actually useful ? 00) Is there an alternative tool that does not rely on mono/gtk-sharp 1) Are there beagle rpms (plus all the dependency crap I need) for suse 9.2 ?
Just checked for 9.1 and it is not there.
2) Where can I get rug ?
It is part of the RedCarpet/OpenCarpet packages on the Novell server. ftp://ftp.novell.com/pub/ximian/redcarpet2 -- Ken Schneider UNIX since 1989, linux since 1994, SuSE since 1998 * Only reply to the list please* "The day Microsoft makes something that doesn't suck is probably the day they start making vacuum cleaners." -Ernst Jan Plugge
