Hello all,
Please excuse the simplicity of this question. I've just installed SuSE 8.1 on my machine at home as I thought it was time to learn how to use linux.
Welcome
I am in need of a relational database and I noticed during the install of SuSE that MySQL had been installed. However it hasn't been added to my start applications and I've no idea how to access it or find where it's been installed as its not in my home directory either.
mysql is a daemon, which means it runs in the background. You need other software to use it. I don't know much about that package myself, but I understand the suse version is problematic. You'll find all sorts of info at www.mysql.com Dylan
Can any of you give me some advice as to where to find mySQL and/or how to get it running so I can create some dummy tables?
I'm afraid all this is a bit daunting for a until recently 100% windows user.
Many thanks,
Ben Temperton
