Did you verify it? Look at first sector of each disk (dd if=/dev/sd[abcd] count=1 | xxd) - do they look the same? Do they have string GRUB somewhere?
This was the problem with RAID1 - boot block was installed on just one disk, so second disk was not bootable.
Thanks for the heads up, checking showed that only /dev/sda had grub2! However, executing grub2-install /dev/sd[bcd] fixed that and now the output of your test mentioned above is identical on all 4 disks.
