I use SuSE 9.1 kernel 2.6.7 and currently netscape 7.2 for mail. Netscape 7.2 and Mozilla 1.7.3 work fine. I originally used thunderbird 0.5 and it worked too. I have
almost 10,000 emails and don't want to through them out. When I upgrade thunderbird to 0.6,0.7,0.8,0.9, or even 1.0, the messages are read as if read by a normal text editor. I try tools->import and select mail, and
it says something about communicator 4.x and doesn't import it. WHY?!?!?!?!?! I want to use thunderbird again because netscape/mozilla
are ugly and thunderbird 1.0 looks SO much better.
Steve, I don't know how extensive your filtering system is, but try copying your Netscape Inbox file to Thunderbird's *Local* folder. You might want to set up a subfolder under Local and call it Imported or something like that, then copy the Inbox there. Then start Thurderbird. If Netscape's mail is in mbox format, T-Bird should pick it up when you restart it. If you have tons of folders into which you filter mail, you may have to move all of that into your Netscape Inbox first, then copy it over... Best, Pete P.S. Be sure to copy, not move, so you're sure you haven't lost anything in the swap. -- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peter N.
