Hi All,
Anyone successfully running 3d with a Matrox G550 on SuSE 9.0?
I was able to get through Sax2 after some huffing and puffing and a crash, but the machine locks solid after starting kde and has to be reset. I have installed all patches, including, naturally, all those to X.
The days of 3d hardware accel seem as far away as ever here ... although since I want to use the machine for graphics work the 16 bit colour limitation doesn't help either. Something odd about this machine, or ...?
Best Fergus
Fergus,
I have not had any success with the G550 on 9.0 either. I don't know why this is a problem...it's a popular card and Matrox is pretty well known for their quality.
If I come up with anything, I'll let you know.
This is what i get, running 3Ddiag. But playing "racer" won't work at all.
