Have you checked the various logs for error messages? Sounds like a config problem.

To start with
/var/log/boot.msg /var/log/messages /var/log/audit/audit.log
If that doesn't reveal anything, I would run the daemon in the foreground with debug on. I'm sure privoxy has settings for that. -- Per Jessen, Zürich (15.1°C)
In openSUSE, privoxy runs chroot. Log files can be found in the directory "/var/lib/privoxy/log".

I Checked the four logs suggested and found nothing to give me a clue. In /var/lib/privoxy/log only "logfile" from thtee months ago. In /var/log/boot.msg - nothing about privoxy in /var/log/messages only from five days ago this line: Jun 1 16:04:38 computername sudo: username : TTY=pts/0 ; PWD=/home/username ; USER=root ; COMMAND=/etc/init.d/privoxy restart That's when I first tried to get it to work, but no messages since In var/log/audi/audit.log nothing related to privoxy It was suggested I start the daemon in the foreground with debug - no clue how to do that.
