Yes, there is. The rescue system takes more memory, as does the installation system itself. I have had to stop using the 10 rescue-system and either use Knoppix or the 9.0 rescue system. Installation-wise, 10 needs at least 96Mb RAM, whereas 8 was ok with 64M.
