I am using the runlevel editor in Suse 8.0. I was disabling unneeded services so I tried to disable portmap as I always did before. THis time yast2 comes up and shouts that portmap is necessary to inetd? Is it true? Why now it is needed and before it was not?
I can think of wierd cases were it might be (pop-before-relay using dracd and a pop daemon run inetd).
Is it a bug?
I don't think so but it's a little strange. -- -ckm
