bunch of messages about some process respawning too fast, wait five minutes. So I blew everything away and reinstalled again. And this time SuSE can't seem to find the 3c509 *or* the NE2000 card.
So right now it will boot up fine, no httpd.conf errors, but the dhcpclient isn't doing so well, since it thinks it only has lo to play with.
Not a very pleasant way to spend two days (so far).

Its a real shame that 7.0 ( "seems" ) to be producing so many problems because when it is finally working there are so many good things to be said about it. I am extremely pleased with the manuals for newcomers, I suggested a while back that some sort of documentation for newbies as to what their system was capable of was a good idea. ( sell yourself ). And I am really pleased with the integration into Windowmaker which Im sure wasnt there before. Compiling code seems to be much easier this time with less failed dependancies Like you, Ive had the ethernet card go missing ( solutions turn of pnp os in the bios ). My Epson USB printer refuses to be configured. and Ive also had the cdrom drive refuse to eject. Help system not configured properly. Oddities since these were all fine in 6.4. As I said its a shame, because I believe there are many good things in the 7.0 box and Im sure that a lot of time and effort have gone into the release. Unfortunately the more grandiose the release. the less 'problems' we expect to face on installation. It must be a difficult transition time for Linux distributors as they are called upon to make bolder strokes with their releases without the time to create the infrastructure/systems that one expects behind them.
