Sorry to bother everyone about this but I'm following the instructions to a tee and nothing. 1.Create a directory named mozilla (mkdir mozilla0.9.4 ) and change to that directory (cd mozilla0.9.4 ). 2.Click the link to download the installer file (called mozilla-i686-pc-linux-gnu-installer.tar.gz). 3.Change to the mozilla directory (cd mozilla0.9.4 ) and decompress the archive with the following command: gunzip -dc moz*.tar.gz | tar -xvf - (This places the installer in a subdirectory of Mozilla named mozilla-installer.) 4.Change to the mozilla-installer directory (cd mozilla-installer) and run the installer with the ./mozilla-installer command. 5.Follow the instructions in the install wizard for installing Mozilla . My problem is with #3 obviously.I use the command to decompress the archive and I get this message gunzip: invalid option --* tar: 460 garbage bytes ignored at end of archive tar: this does not look like a tar archive tar: Skipping to next header tar: Error on exit delayed from previous errors The file I downloaded is the exact file mentioned in #2.Am I just screwing up the command to decompress the archive? Thanks!
