I would like to compile my kernel or even upgrade my kernel version for SuSE I have both 7.0 and 7.1. I have compiled linux kernels many times for RedHat, mandrake, and slackware. I've tried using the "standard" linux kernels of 2.4.4 and 2.4.5 but it appears that SuSE has many custom patches to the kernel. Where could I get these? The standard kernels all work, and speed things up quite a bit, but the problem is mostly with modules, (I'd like to compile everything statically into the kernel with no modules at all) but I have a C-Media sound card, and alsa likes modules. I know how to do the make mrproper, make, make install, make bzIage, make modules make modules_install, and I've played around with trying newer versions of the mod_utils and this also helps some. But I'm still missing something. Everything else works fine, my SiS NIC, my NVidia video, my Adaptec SCSI controller, all work great. Any help on this would be appreciated. Ray
