Are you getting an ip address from the router when booted into linux. do an ifconfig an check an see if you are getting one. is the nic setup to get the ip via dhcp if not then it want get out on net til it gets one. also you might have to give it a static ip from the range that the router is passing out on dhcp. I use a linksys router here at work an at home an have setup my suses boxes to static ip's. it has worked for dhcp also but I prefer static address. ack malone Network Administrator EAST TEXAS LIGHTHOUSE FOR THE BLIND dba HORIZON INDUSTRIES 903-595-3444 http://www.horizonind.com At 09:47 AM 11/7/2002 -0800, gclinux wrote:
hi all, i just installed a dlink 704p router, now konqueror won't connect to the internet. i'm using suse7.1. the router works because my wife's windoze partition is able to surf the web. in suse when i ping the router i get an ongoing reply to the ping request that doesn't end till i close the window. i'm not having any luck searching the man pages. any hints/help with what settings i need to change ( in simple - easy to follow newbie language) would be greatly appreciated tyia
