[opensuse] why doesn't thunderbird show attached .vcf file?

Hi, Because I was too lazy to enable an ssh session to my mobile phone I just sent the .vcf backup file from my mobile per email. But thunderbird doesn't show the attachement. It shows just the email and no hint nowhere that there is an attachment. [opensuse] Cisco AnyConnect

Our company uses Cisco AnyConnect for VPN in to the company network. They use this on the official Windows computers. Our IT don't do Linux... Does anyone have any experience with AnyConnect on openSUSE? There are some downloads available here: https://software.cisco.com/download/home/286281283/type/282364313/release/4… I'm not sure which are appropriate. I am guessing that one needs a certificate of some sore to gain access. No idea. Early days. [opensuse] leap 15.1 yast proxy problem

Hello: I have this problem in openSUSE Leap 15.1, fresh install from DVD: I installed the system on a computer behind a proxy server. I configured the proxy in yast network services/proxy. Everything worked fine. Then I moved the hard drive into a different computer without a proxy server. I have configured another network connection in network manager for the different network card. The network works fine, but: yast online update and software manager gives the following error: Download (curl) error for 'http://ftp5.gwdg.de/pub/opensuse/distribution/leap/15.1/repo/.....: Error code: Connection failed Error message: Could not resolve proxy: xxxxxx The following actions did not solve the problem: - disabled and also deleted proxy information in yast network services/proxy, - restarting network. Only yast has this proxy problem, I can use the network as normal user and root (pinging sites, using firefox browser). Any help would be appreciated. [opensuse] Can't play video files

LS, I tried to playback some video files with the MP4 or DV extension, without suc6. I used MVP, Xine, DragonPlayer and VLC but only VLC let me hear some audio but, like all others, no video. Just to test, KDENLIVE did work, but of course is not intended as a player. Some complained that there was no DV codec present, so I installed libdv4 too - libdv was already present. Alas, this did not work too. I used most of the programs in the past, in one time or another, and all played well. Can anybody shed some light on what is going on here, or do I need to compile a video player myself? [opensuse] Little copy file problem

The problem is, the files have a ":" on their names, and Thunar (XFCE) says the name is invalid, but does not offer as an option to change the name. So the question is: do you know a file browser that does offer to change the name, or even better, changes the name automatically? I try another file browser called "Files". It does change the ":" to "_", but it also changes the "ñ" to "_" which is not correct, as fat does accept the ñ, and it would be more correct to change to 'n'. There is "gnome-commander", which allows change the destination name if you try before pressing enter to go ahead. BUT, not if I select several files to copy. Midnight commander does not allow edit. Well, it does, in a cumbersome manner. Krusader can't. On multiple select it offers to skip. On single file it does not allow to edit name. It fails, and does not say the reason, just "can not copy", retry, cancel. PCManFM-Qt... simply crashes when asked to copy two such files! Tried twice. Others? [opensuse] Error with keys installing rpms

I want to install some rpms on a Tumbleweed system(DVD ISO July 6th, 2019). [opensuse] Brother DCP-7010 as a scanner

So far, my DCP-7010, which is connected by USB, works as a printer only, but I should also like to set it up as a scanner. In my prehistoric SuSE 10.1, it still works, but under Leap 15.1 its installation is obviously a problem. yast2 does not recognize the scanner's driver even though it seems to be present on the computer as can be verified by "sane-find-scanner", which yields the reply: found USB scanner (vendor=0x04f9, product=0x0182) at libusb:003:002 Maybe zypper would be helpful to install it. But I am not familiar at all with zypper. Any help would be welcome. [opensuse] Dolphin not displaying network places

Probably after some update Dolphin no longer displays network places only local things. Possibly I fubarred my config but I can't find out how or why. On the upside: I rediscovered konquerer that does give all network places, browses the net and browses the locals. Now if only it also would make coffee... So basically the problem has been solved, but I'm still wondering.
