[opensuse] Synchronization of notes

Hi, I'm looking for a way how to synchronize notes. So far I have been using KDE Basket. It is very nice application, but it has no support for syncing. My requirements are: 1) Running in sys tray of openSUSE with KDE (not necessarily KDE application). 2) Synchronization over custom server (I have SFTP, ownCloud, ...). So no solution provided by private company. 3) App available for Sailfish OS and Android (well, Sailfish can run Android apps, but native Sailfish app is better). 4) Web interface is not required, but nice. 5) Fully FOSS solution. 6) Having multiple notes, group them, and so. Rich text is not required. ownCloud offers in its app store several note apps. Does anyone have recommendations which to use? I'm bit confused by high number of them... QOwnNotes http://www.qownnotes.org/ also looks promising, but I'd like to hear some experience before trying to deploy it (or something similar). I think this is the first straight installation I've done of 42.3, everything else has been an upgrade. I noticed this in the installatrion summary: Software │ │These packages need to be selected to install: grub2 │Please manually select the needed items to install. Not sure what to make of it. This is with kernel 4.4.90-28 on openSuSE Leap 42.3, but after checking older journal entries I saw, that it also happened with 4.4.87-25. Machine specs: - Supermicro X10DRi/X10DRi, BIOS 2.0 12/28/2015 - 2 x 6 core CPU Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2620 v3 @ 2.40GHz - 128 GB RAM The error does not happen when restarting the os, only after a cold boot of the machine. I couldn't find appropriate information on the net. Is cpu 1 damaged? [opensuse] leap42.3 as xen host - wants to install gtk3 ?

I'm installing leap423 for testing as a xen host. I get gtk3 stuff installed?? For instance: gtk3-immodule-amharic gtk3-immodule-inuktitut gtk3-immodule-thai gtk3-immodule-vietnamese more gtk3 stuff Trying to remove gtk3-data tells me: libgtk-3-0-3.20.10-9.1.x86_64 is needed, trying to remove that: qemu-x86-2.9.0-32.4.x86_64 needs libgtk ?? It presents a filesystem interface to rdiff-backup and translates that into tape commands on the backend. LTFS seems to work best with large files. rdiff-backup makes no effort to consolidate small files, but if your files being backed up, it should perform well. Next question: With a large dataset will a single LTFS filesystem span a tapeset? Hi, I have problem creating XEN VM in YaST on 100% fresh install of 42.3, it simply do not allow to do this, always selecting KVM (Connection QEMU/KVM), and don’t allowing selection of XEN anywhere. CPU Intel Q6600 quad-core, 8 GB RAM virtualization technolgy enabled in BIOS System booted in OpenSuSE Leap with Xen hypervisor XEN server & Xen tools are installed libvirt LXC daemon installed KVM server NOT installed Running daemons: libvirtd libvirtd-guest xen-watchdog xencommons xenconsoled xendomains xendriverdomain xenstored These also running, although I’m not sure is should be so before actual VM xen-init-dom0 xen-qemu-dom0-disk-backend YaST -> Virtual machine manager Add Connection -> Hypervisor XEN States that it can’t connect to libvirt, libxenlight drvier not active. [opensuse] Your laptop battery is definitely broken

I have two installations of 42.3 on two different computers. Each tells me that the battery is probably broken, which is true enough. But the first requires me to press OK for the message to go away, whereas the second is a yellow notice which vanishes after a few seconds. What might cause the difference? I would rather not see the message as I am not about to do anything about the batteries, other than remove them altogether. But the yellow notice is better than the OK prompt. [opensuse] Large Data Backups?

Hi Folks, BLUF: How to backup large data stores? Say I've got 300-TB of on-line data, most if it is fairly static, while some of it changes frequently on a daily basis. I do daily incremental backups on the dynamic areas to disk filesystems on separate computers, with a monthly full disk image being stored off-line at an off-site location. But I'm worried about the bulk of the data that isn't being backed up. Most of the data consists of lots of binary files stored on multiple hardware RAID-6 arrays. The arrays have hot-spare disks, and I've got spares on the shelf. But as the graybeards know, reliable RAID isn't backup! One technology being considered is LTO tape. LTO-8 is due out any day now that claims to store 12-TB native. A drive or two with a tape library would possibly fill the requirement. Does anyone have any thoughts/advice?
