Unfortunately, this kind of question exceeds the scope of the free installation support. This support is intended primarily as a help to get a basic system up and running.
Please note that we cannot answer support requests such as the one you have submitted. Regarding this subject, please read the enclosed information brochure "Support from SuSE Linux", which is also available online at:
Al final este correo, empasto el ultimo correo que les envie con un reporte de 11 bugs en la documentación (el tuyo es el nº5) y el sistema de ayuda que no han solucionado. Los solucionables pongo la solución posible, pero otros, como el tuyo, imposible, es cosa de suse, y se niegan a solucionarlo. Yo sugeriría que la lista entera hiciera la comprobación y protestase a suse, a mi ya no me hacen caso :-( -- Saludos Carlos Robinson El 02.07.25 a las 08:15, escribió:

This mail was previously "Re: Ticket [xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx]", but as "support" does not want any thing with this, I mail this to "feedback" (with copy to support for their reference). Please note that there are a lot of missing or wrong files in the documentation rpms, and I'd like a proper answer to that (not: "not my fault, mail some body else"). Missing files need updated packages. Also I'd like to know how you solve the first 3 bugs, that is, if my solution is correct or should I use a different one. So far, I have not seen any mention of any of this in the SDB. Please note that they are all Suse bugs, not somebody else's bugs. *** Registration data: "SuSE Linux 7.3 Professional Spanisch" with the registration code "xxxxxxxxxxxxx". Name : Address : ZIP and City : Country : Dear sirs, Thank you for your answer; but it seems that you have copy pasted an answer, without really reading my emails. There was at least a question at the end you have not answered. If you think that this is not a question for "support", but for "feedback", please do forward this email to them, but do not say that there are no bugs. I have discovered, so far, eleven (11) bugs in susehelp: - Three of the bugs, I have more or less solved; but, in any case, I'd like to know the official support solution to the bugs, so that they will not conflict with the next update. - The other eight involve missing or wrong files which I can not remake (and there are no source rpm). Let me list, again, the problems. There are several entries for documentation books in susehelp that do not work: 1) SuSE Reference 2) Gimp user manual (already acknowledged in xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx) 3) Gnome manual (already acknowledged in xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx) In cases 1, 2, and 3, the "start" entry in the /etc/susehelp.d/*.conf files point to the wrong place (see my previous emails for details, or ask for them). **** QUESTION_1 ****: How should those be corrected? If you have an entry in the sdb, I did not find it. 4) SuSE Network (English version: network_en) - HTML is missing. Package Description: The SuSE Linux Network Manual -- PDF and HTML formats, English The source package "network_en-7.3.0.0-10.src.rpm" is not included, so I can not solve that myself. **** QUESTION_2 ****: ¿Do you have an upgrade package for it, with the missing files included? 5) SuSE Network (Spanish version: network_es) - contains German version instead. 6) SuSE Network (French version: network_fr) - contains German version instead. 7) SuSE Applications (French version: qapl_fr) - contains German version instead. - PDF missing. 8) SuSE Configuration Manual (Spanish version: qconfig_es) - contains German version instead. - PDF missing. 9) SuSE Configuration Manual (French version: qconfig_fr) - contains German version instead. - PDF missing. 10) SuSE Reference (Spanish version: suselinux-reference_es.rpm) - contains German version instead. - PDF can not be opened: there exists an update. ¿Does the update fix the translation issue? It is not mentioned. 11) SuSE Reference (French version: suselinux-reference_fr.rpm) - HTML is missing. - PDF can not be opened: there exists an update. ¿Does the update fix the translation issue? It is not mentioned. **** QUESTION_3 ****: ¿Do you have upgrade packages for those? Please note that I bought the spanish version of Suse linux (profesional). The printed books are in spanish, but not the electronic version. Please, I would like an appropriate answer. -- Saludos Carlos Robinson El 02.03.27 a las 17:09, SuSE Support escribió:

Many thanks for your enquiry to SuSE Installation Support. You wrote:
Problem: ======== Entry in susehelp for "SuSE Reference" book (english) does not work (file not found).
Solution: ========= Edit file "/etc/susehelp.d/refbook_en.conf". Change this line:
Start="/usr/share/doc/suse/suselinux-reference_en/html/index.html"
into:
Start="/usr/share/doc/suse/reference-en/html/index.html"
and run /sbin/conf.d/SuSEconfig.susehilf, and rcapache reload. Entries for other languages, except german, are probably wrong as well.
Otherwise, change the names of the directories apropiately (or perhaps symlink them) so that they match.
Notes: =====
Also, note that the name is not consistent, it is "reference-en" instead of "reference_en", as the other books are named "qappl_en" and "qconfig_en".
Html doc directory for the network book is missing, only the pdf appears after installation. I have not seen an update package for it.
You find the following article about that in our support database http://sdb.suse.de/en/ with the keyword "feedback".
Title: Sending Feedback to SuSE
http://sdb.suse.de/en/sdb/html/bugreport.html _______________________________________________________
Request
You are convinced to have found a bug in the distribution and you want to make a bug report.
Procedure
If you can't find a reference to your problem in either the documentation (check rpm -qd <PACKAGE>) nor in our der support data base and the problem is also unknown to SuSE installation support, then you can send us a qualified bug report.
We appreciate your contribution. You can help us by checking the following list:
* If you came across more than one issue, please report them in separate mails. That way it is easier for us to forward your report to the correct person. * Is it possible to reproduce the problem? Please describe as detailed as possible how this can be done. E.g. "when I am in runlevel 3 and then start as user root the program SaX2 with option -f, then ..." * Make sure that all needed (!) packages have been installed. You can check package dependencies with YaST(2). There shouldn't be any unresolved dependencies. * Check with all the available documentation (printed manuals, README files, etc.), if there are any pointers to the problem that you encountered. Further more you should pay attention to the package documentation in /usr/share/doc/packages. * Please also have a look at our support data base, in case the problem is already described there. * Please do some checks on your hardware to make sure it is not a hardware issue, like faulty RAM, etc. The following SDB articles might be of help: "Checking system stability", "Checking for memory errors with memtest86", "Problems caused by the BIOS option "PnP OS"" and "General hardware problems". * Relevant information might also be found in the config files of that package and in the system log /var/log/messages. Don't send us the complete system log, but try to extract the important lines plus the preceeding 20 lines or so. * In case it is a problem with the initial installation, please try both Installation - Safe Settings and Manual Installation. If both these methods fail, please make sure to include the messages that can be found on console 3 and 4 (by using the keys <Ctrl>-<Alt>-
). If after checking the above list and you are convinced that you are dealing with a bug, please send us a qualified bug report with all the neccessary information to
feedback@suse.de
Notice:
feedback@suse.de collects bug reports from customers. It's not meant to be an extended support service. Therefor you shouldn't expect to get a solution for the reported problem.
We appreciate you contribution. Your qualified bug report will be submitted to our internal bug tracking system. That way, you help us improving the quality of the distribution.
