Hallo, habe mir einen Kernel erstellt, übersetzt usw. Bekomme jetzt während des Bootvorgangs folgende Meldung: Request_module.....: Root fs not mounted VFS: Cannot open root device 21:07 Kernel panic: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on 21:07 Kann natürlich immer noch den alten kernel booten (wie man sieht...). Hi mit cp /usr/src/linux/arch/i386/boot/b(z)image /boot/vmlinuz.neuerkernel oder so und einem entsprechenden eintrag in lilo.conf * und * einem anschließenden Ausführen von lilo (das wirds sein) sollte es gehen... Flo Kay von Aspern schrieb:

Aeh, da ist dir wohl bei der Kernelconfig bzw. in /etc/lilo.conf ein wenig durcheinander bekommen. Du versuchst /dev/sg7 bzw. ein nicht zugewiesenes Geraet zu mounten. Denn device 21:07 <==> Major 21, minor 7. Und das ist: Aus /usr/src/linux/Documentation/devices.txt: 21 char Generic SCSI access 0 = /dev/sg0 First generic SCSI device 1 = /dev/sg1 Second generic SCSI device ... Most distributions name these /dev/sga, /dev/sgb...; this sets an unnecessary limit of 26 SCSI devices in Was fuer Hardware hast du? IDE? SCSI? Wie sieht die lilo.conf aus? Du hast IDE (oder SCSI, was auch immer deine Bootplatte ist) und das
passende Dateisystem (ext2, reiser) im Kernel?
