can installing Kernel:/stable/standard on 15.2 be done?
Trying to install Kernel:/stable/standard kernel on 15.2 nothing provides kmod-zstd needed by kernel-default-5.15.8. https://software.opensuse.org/search?utf8=%E2%9C%93&baseproject=openSUSE%3ALeap%3A15.2&q=kmod-zstd returns nothing. What needs to be enabled to allow a newer kernel than 15.2 provides for support of Intel Rocket Lake UHD 730 graphics? -- Evolution as taught in public schools is, like religion, based on faith, not based on science. hint: Kernel:stable:Backport
I was sure I had seen a mailing list message about the subject a while back, so http://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/opensuse/repositories/Kernel:/Backport:/stable/ is where I looked. It was empty. (It still is.) As a consequence I guess, I missed http://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/opensuse/repositories/Kernel:/stable:/Backport/standa.... It's now running as expected on 5.15.8 OK on the vttys. Initially X black screened, then put display to sleep: # grep EE Xorg.0.log [ 3.087] (EE) Failed to load module "intel" (module does not exist, 0) [ 3.089] (EE) open /dev/dri/card0: No such file or directory [ 3.090] (EE) Unable to find a valid framebuffer device [ 3.090] (EE) Screen 0 deleted because of no matching config section.
