Since around the time Fedora pushed GDM from tty7 to tty1 or tty2, in certain configurations, tty1 took on some different characteristics than the others at times. With Gnome, tty2 can also be quirky, or simply unavailable as a terminal. Therefore, just just tty[3-6] and avoid the possible quirks. I don't use Gnome, and don't have any of those problems, because I leave tty1 unused until I've tied up all the others, which rarely happens. -- Evolution as taught in public schools is, like religion, based on faith, not based on science. Hello thanks for your feedback! It makes sense if somehing has been changed inside the code. I use XFCE as main DE I would like to force the use of one tty as default, in order to avoid such random service deactivation. However the issue has presented few times soon after my last update and now it seems to be not occurring anymore.
