I can not find any other icc-profile package in YaST.
Still, no hp profiles:
Well, (one of) the idea(s) of arggyllcms is *creating* color profiles for your devices, that's why I said 'related', not 'included'.
I have no interest in creating a profile. I only want to silence the error message by providing the files it expects.
Supposedly they should improve photo printing :-(
Yes. The idea is that you have profiles for *all* your devices (e.g., camera, Monitor, printer) so that the color of anything is identical on all of them. But that is nothing global, it is really per device unit, so you need to do this calibration yourself using proper calibration hardware (Colorimeters like the Spyder series). And the profiles (especially for printers) really only are useful if also (at least) the monitor is calibrated....
Of course I don't have such hardware. I did use one about 1995 and it was horribly expensive. I would expect then each manufacturer to provide the default profiles, so the printer drivers should contain them. And if they are so difficult to obtain, the software should not complain about those missing files. If there is a message on the logs, that's something. But getting a popup in the desktop about the missing files when I try to print is absurd if the files are impossible to obtain :-( -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 15.0 x86_64 at Telcontar)
