[12-23-19 20:11]: Hi,
I have an AMD Ryzen system and when I start FAClient I see a message about not
finding the opencl libs. I looked on the folding at home web site about the newer foah and they
mention using opencl.. Should I install OpenCL? Which files should I install? I am using Tumbleweed.
The client runs pretty fast now so that's why I'm asking. Thanks.. you are assuming we know what "folding at home" amounts to, and you mention their web site. have you asked them if you actually "need" opencl?
Folding At Home is a protein folding program for use by biochemists to aid in disease analysis...
have you researched the FAClient to see if it needs opencl or if you can configure it not to look for opencl or not complain about it?
Well I asked them and OpenCL allows the GPU & CPU to both be used...
if your system runs that software w/o problems, why worry about it?
So now I have a problem after installing some OpenCL files.....when starting the FAClient I get error failed to open libOpenCL.so I have libOpenCL.so.1 in lb64.....I did ldconfig and still nothing..... any ideas?? mike
