How can I use public IP address behind firewall(ipchain)
Hi List. I have a 3 servers behind firewall, which is configured with SuSE Firewall (ipcahins) not SuSE Firewall 2 and several clients. The clients and servers use public IP address not private IP address and each server works as a web & ftp server. How can I configure it?
Use port forwarding and get rid of the public IP's or use a DMZ.
SuSEfirewall does both, and so does SuSEfirewall2 which I would recommend if
you are running 2.4 kernel.

Jon

You mean, they have RFC1918 IPs (which I would call private since they are not routed through public net works)? 192.168.x.x or so?
How can I configure it?
you port forwarder, either by firewall rule or rinetd (TCP only) or some proxy (for HTTP and FTP it should work). oki, Steffen -- Dieses Schreiben wurde maschinell erstellt, es trägt daher weder Unterschrift noch Siegel.
