Hi,
Google approved yesterday our participation to the Google Code-In
program: http://google-melange.appspot.com/gci/homepage/google/gci2011 ... ... Congratulations to everyone who prepared the application. It's show time!!!
It is, but we have to do more :) I just updated: http://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:GCI the digest section, as I managed to find out more information that was missing, like how to asses points so that our task list is attractive to participants. Last year top achievers made around 300 points, which is 5 a day. http://groups.google.com/group/gci-discuss/msg/952a8c392fdddf36 Also, this is a bit confusing: http://groups.google.com/group/gci-discuss/browse_thread/thread/d8c533b8f152... as preliminary lists that participating organizations have are already public, so interested people have chance to solve them before actually applying on Nov 21st. Also, please, keep in mind that we have to use any minute of inactivity before and after 12.1 release day to add tasks to the list. There must be at least 5 per section. Research and User Interface are low on numbers. Looking on second, the only task there can be split in many small tasks, like fixing bugs reported in bugzilla, propose usability improvements, etc. Also note that there will be another period for giving tasks from Dec 16th, so when contest begins on Nov 21st, task development process is not ended. http://www.google-melange.com/gci/events/google/gci2011 -- Regards, Rajko -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-project+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, email: opensuse-project+owner@opensuse.org
