No, you don't... you could actually go the patent-legal way and buy the OnePlay Codec Pack... stating that you must use PM is like stating you must commit a crime to use watch Videos (depending on region that is... )
IMO the legal way is the way to go here, i. e. downloading the OnePlay Codec Pack. If it's really so important for someone to have all that MM-stuff, 20$ seems affordable - you would still get the OS for free. BUT - just an idea, not thought through - would it perhaps be possible to get a better deal for openSUSE-users? Let's say 10 $? Could be a win-win for both sides. But I don't know if this would be technically feasable. Perhaps complete BS.
