Looks like Canonical is now involved in solving it for Ubuntu - they're going to use efiboot it looks like, which apparently (from a slashdot article, so follow the link to the "real" story) means they only need to sign the bootloader and not the kernel. But that is likely to make things difficult for multi-boot Linux users, if the distros have different solutions and require different bootloaders.
