I understand that's the world we live in, but large omnibus forums are a *terrible* way to interact with users, from a developer standpoint - I simply don't have enough time in the day to monitor a dozen+ sub-forums for threads that are asking questions that I can answer. Is it possible to somehow automatically flag keywords in new topic submissions in the forum? That would be very helpful.
One thing that this openSUSE forum has and others have not, is an NNTP gateway. You can read and write in our forums using a traditional news reader like pan, knode, thunderbird, even alpine, as plain text, with all the tools developed since internet and usenet was invented. There are a few gotchas with using the gateway, but the end result is very good. I would not participate there at all if it wasn't for the gateway. - -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R.
