hi, my name is Shivam Bhalla and i am a second year student of computer science. i am very passionate about mobile app development for android and am interested in participating in gsoc 2013 with opensuse as my organisation of preference. i am interested in working on the opensuse news app on android. some of the ideas that i propose for this app are 1. an rss feed where the user can swipe using view pager between various news such as recent topics , top rated topics etc 2. the topics will be presented in an interactive list with users being able to expand every item to a full view on touching 3. on opening a particular item, i intend to integrate the app with facebook like and share as well as tweet functionality among others. this can be presented in two ways-: a. using a sliding drawer at the bottom for sharing across various platforms b. using contextual action bar switching on long press with options to share.(using actionbar sherlock library) 4. i also plan to include an elaborate login and settings view by which, the user can create an account and also, using settings, decide how often the feed is to be updated etc. 5. another feature which this app could have is opensuse info, by which, newbies to the opensuse world and students can know about various suites available on the OS and how it is analogous to something that they have used before. 6. other UI features which i could possibly include are daydreams screensaver for posts display in sleep mode, or homescreen/lockscreen widgets etc. s please let me know your opinion on these ideas as well as any suggestions that you may have regarding them. many thanks Shivam Bhalla -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-project+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, email: opensuse-project+owner@opensuse.org
