Based on the above, it seems to me, one way or another opensuse 11.x LTS needs to be based on 2.6.32. As an example I would guess a lot of EXT4 patches will get back-ported to 2.6.32, not to older kernels.
There is a lot of discussion going on about details and while that is not that bad it's too early to discuss them still. But yes, if SLE11 was able to go to 2.6.32 I hope we can do the same for "openSUSE 11.1". But then again the kernel and other very low level stuff is my main concern where we could fail.
