I installed till with some failures under Linux SuSE V 7.3 PPC editopm on a RISC 6000 7248-100. It is running quite find. (...) What's about a Red Hat distribution, I have Enterprise V 3.0. Is this working ?
I don't think anybody would use the money it would cost for at copy of RedHat Enterprise Advanced Server (you need a ppc32 version, and only AS is availbe for ppc32). AS3.0 is not availble for free download. You could buy a lot of cool new hardware for the price. If you have the possibility, it would surely be a fun thing to try. Seriously, if you want a RedHat-like system, go for Mandrake or YellowDog. Both are more-or-less supported, check the 7248 howto.
I search for such an information in internet, but didn't find it. Where can I find, which distribution is good for a model of IBM/HP/... ?
More-or-less supported distros includes Debian, Mandrake and Yellowdog. I would recomment Debian. Ingvar -- Many that live deserve death. And some that die deserve life. Can you give it to them?
