I downloaded the one CD from the repository, it was dated oktober. It would not boot. I am totally confused about the use of Factory. So please some coaching and handholding and maybe I can get some use out of this beast (the most expensive and least usable Mac that I bought). There is an openSuse 11.1 system on it, but corrupt it keeps reloading the desktop. Waited for 11.2 and now this.
You could try changing your repos to the ones in this directory:
http://powerpc.opensuse.org/factory/repo/
and then doing a:
zypper dup
to update to the latest factory. Evidently Official PPC support has been dropped from openSUSE.
Maybe someone could clarify this? Olaf? Andreas?
Thanx
I tried to use the net install disc for PPC to set up my G4. It did not have a pre-existing install of openSUSE. The net install disc refused to boot at all as if it did not even have yaboot or similar on it.
