rpmlint complains about rpath

Hi all, I have worked on updating kbibtex.[1] However, I get a rpmlint complaint that the executable and some libaries include reference to rpath or runpath (/usr). I have used "chrpath -d" to remove them so that the build succeeds, but I can't imagine this is a good approach. Is this something I should report upstream or is there is trick, like a build flag, to solve this in a nice way? Thanks. Hello, I have a problem with building a package. With the command python3.11 setup.py build comes the following error: [ 38s] /usr/bin/python3.11 -c from sipbuild.tools.build import main; main(); --verbose --no-make --qmake /usr/bin/qmake6 [ 38s] Querying qmake about your Qt installation... [ 38s] /usr/bin/qmake6 -query [ 38s] -c: '13.6' is not a supported ABI version This somehow points to a bug in one of the python sip packages, right? If I am correct, is this known? Or do I need to change something in the build? I'm just not getting anywhere at the moment. Maybe someone can help me? Regards Eric

Drop /etc/slp.reg.d/*.reg files

Hi, several weeks ago there was the decission made, that for various reasons (mainly healthness of upstream project, security issues, migration issues) openslp will be dropped in the near future. Today, only YaST has still support for it, if this dependency is solved, the delete request for openslp will be approved. Support for SLP got already removed from all other packages. Which means, it's pretty useless to ship /etc/slp.reg.d/*.reg files, as there will be no consumer of this file anymore. Thus this files can be removed from our packages. Compiling kdash succeeds on aarch64, but fails on x86_64 with a gcc13 error?

Hi all, I stumbled upon kdash, which is a terminal dashboard for Kubernetes written in Rust. 1, 2, packaged... And now it fails for x86_64, but succeeds on aarch64. That is a first, I only had it the other way round (x86_64 succeeding, other architectures failing...). > https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/home:ojkastl_buildservice:Branch_de… The error mentions some things regarding gcc13 and the linker. This is out of my territory and I would be glad, if someone could have a look whether this is something in my packaging or in upstream or in the GCC package / utilities. RFC: Guidelines change

Hi, I would love to see a change in the guidelines, here: https://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Packaging_guidelines#Users_and_Groups It is mentioned to create a file named '%{name}-user.conf' I would propose to name it '%{name}.sysusers' or '%{name}.sysusersd' It is more close and following the scheme we already use with: - %{name}.firewalld - %{name}.logrotate - %{name}.sysconfig - %{name}.service - %{name}.tmpfilesd What do you think ? Home for Joker

Hi folks, I'm looking for a more official home for Joker[1], a small Clojure interpreter, linter and formatter written in Go. I think a good fit would be some devel:languages:… project. But which one? Clojure, since it's a Clojure implementation? Or Go, since it is written in Go. Something else? And how is the process looking like? Packaging Jetporch: Where to submit to?

Hi all, there is a new kid on the block. Michael deHaan, the creator of Ansible, has created a new project called Jetporch. Written in Rust and a lot faster than Ansible. At least that is the claim. https://github.com/jetporch/jetporch "Jetporch (aka Jet) is a general-purpose, community-driven IT automation platform for configuration management, deployment, orchestration, patching, and arbitrary task execution workflows." I am preparing a package for this, as I am eager to test it.
