[opensuse-packaging] Need help with OBS-project

Hello geeckos! I created a little project because I want to getting around with OBS. So, I tried to create a standard-Kernel-package of linux 2.6.32.29. I created the project: Project home:openLHAG:kernel, Package kernel-default and then I wanted to load up the source code.... I downloaded the tar.bz2-file from kernel.org, and tried to upload it to OBS. But the uploading-screen doesn?t go away. It still stays after a few minutes. Am I just too impatiant or is this a general issue? [opensuse-packaging] Content of %build section ignored

Hallo list! Has anyone had the situation, that the contents of the %build-section of a spec file is ignored? All source files are extrackted and patches are applied but as a resault I only get a source.rpm. /var/tmp doesn´t contain any temporary script files. My spec worked for a while and I can´t remember what I could have changed. Hi, There's a package "nginx-0.8" in Factory. Yes the NAME includes "-0.8", including the dot. Why isn't the package simply called "nginx"? It's really counter intuitive to find it that way. All, I'm making progress, but the package I'm trying package needs: perl-NetPacket and 4 of its subpackages Warning: prerequisite NetPacket::Ethernet 0 not found. Warning: prerequisite NetPacket::IP 0 not found. Warning: prerequisite NetPacket::TCP 0 not found. Warning: prerequisite NetPacket::UDP 0 not found. [opensuse-packaging] cpanspec ?

I'm packaging my first perl module. I created the specfile on my 11.3 machine via cpanspec. The specfile uses %{perl_requires}, but that is only defined for 11.4 and newer. Is that acceptable for submitting to per::devel ? [opensuse-packaging] %find_lang now removes unsupported locales

Hi, I made up my mind how to track supported locales and instead of adding more and more /usr/share/locale directories as upstream projects come up with them, I went and made %find_lang remove unsupported languages (and I will remove a lot of them after 11.4). The check that removes the language will output how many strings are removed, so we can check how many strings new languages bring and I would require 10.000 strings (for comparision, yast modules contain ~20.000 strings). [opensuse-packaging] FLU packaging compiles but no result

Hello Mates, atm i'm trying to build FLU in home:saigkill:games. The compile works, but after package is created, i have just the docu in /usr/share/doc/packages. But nothing other. [opensuse-packaging] Forcing an specific type of keyboard

Hi: Im a bit lost, Im integrating all the tools to use "yubikeys" http://www.yubico.com/yubikey for the next opensuse release, so far everything is OK, but it is likely that users with "Dvorak" kb layouts will encounter issues. This usb device is reported to the OS as a keyboard, I need that everytime it is plugged into the system, the whole system forces it to recognized as an english 101 keys keyboard (by whole I mean, on every single application that uses the keyboard, X or console alike) My question is where is the most effective place to do this .. udev ? some other place in the X configuration ? and how ? [opensuse-packaging] If I copy a package from a home dir ....

All, For the package I want build, I need about 15 perl packages from CPAN. My first real success is perl-Net-Pcap in home:gregfreemyer:Tools-for-forensic-boot-cd I want to make sure I handle this right so I can submit it to a devel project. No reason for it not to be there. So, I created it by branching a copy from Leo Eraly <leo(a)unstable.be> The spec file needed one little tweak to work wiht 11.4, but now it seems to be working and I replaced the static source with a service pulling the tgz file from CPAN. https://build.opensuse.org/package/view_file?file=perl-Net-Pcap.spec&packag… Once tested and I run the specfile cleaner on it, I'd like to SR this to a devel project. I don't really feel like the packager. Should I leave his name in the specfile and SR it when I'm ready? Or change the packager to be me? [opensuse-packaging] newbie question on %prep

All, I'm trying to package log2timeline and I'm pulling the *.tgz via a service pull. When the tgz file is expanded in %prep, it creates .../log2timeline. But the %prep section automatically does a "cd log2timeline-0.51" before I can have any control. How can I rename the extracted directory or cause the cd to go into log2timeline? fyi: I'm going to need to package some prereq perl modules for this to work, so if you can point me at a good example of a perl module spec file, that would be great too.
