Hi! Make sure you have a correct /dev/video0 file (major 81, minor 0), and bttv module in /etc/modules.conf file (alias char-major-81 bttv). If all of it is there, try to force the module load by modprobe bttv and then try again with the xawtv. Check also that your Pc has no other capture device like a webcam or so... Hope that helps Eduard __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Send FREE video emails in Yahoo! Mail! http://promo.yahoo.com/videomail/

Glad you find it out :) What I do is that I specify in my boot.local to load the bttv module first, this way it gets /dev/video0 (linked by /dev/video, so the default), and then the webcam module assigns itself to /dev/video1. Usually they do not conflict, and in xawtv you have an option (-c) to specify the video device to use... Good luck! Eduard __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
