I have a Hauppague WinTV card (NTSC) and it worked fine with SuSE 7.1 and 7.2. When I upgraded to 7.3, I have not been able to run it without the system locking up solid after a few minutes, requiring a hard reboot. At first I thought it was because my NVidia GeForce MX400 graphics card was set up for 3D acceleration (how else would you set up a 3D card), so I disabled 3D and there were fewer crashes with x apps, but still, I can't use the bttv card without a hard lockup. I am pretty sure the correct module parameters are card=10 (bttv new), I am never sure what tuner to specify. I could never get the tuner working properly under Linux; anyway, I never use the tuner, just video input. Yast2 does a bare configuration, reporting it as "user specified tvcard" or something like that, but seems unable to probe the correct values from the card. What am I missing here? John Craig

I have a ATI Rage Fury Pro 64MB (r128) and experienced the same problem thing until I disabled the framebuffer options fgl1 and fgl23 using sax2. I need DRI and GLX (two 3D modues) for mplayer and games. Oh, I am running: XFree86 Version 4.1.0 / X Window System (protocol Version 11, revision 0, vendor release 6510) Release Date: 2 June 2001 -rwp _________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
