[opensuse-marketing] Hello - Newly Joined Ambassador
Hi All, I am going to be added as a new ambassador for openSUSE. I am Buddhika Kurera from Sri Lanka (Asia Pacific). I am using SUSE in 2006 when it was know as SUSE Linux. I used Fedora too. In our country Ubuntu is the famous and then fedora. I spread openSUSE in the university and love to do that because I am the only one who promote openSUSE. I was the president of the Computer Society in 2009, therefore I gave enough support and chance to promote openSUSE. I am the editor of the FOSS User Magazine (the first FOSS related magazine ISSN 2012-7650) in Sri Lanka therefore most of plans are related to the magazine. I am planing to start a series on openSUSE. How to install and so on. With parallel to this scheme I am planing to have a contest and deliver some fixed amount of nicely printed CDs to the readers. Then in the events organized by the magazine I am planing to concentrate more on openSUSE. I am having experience with FOSS related work since my childhood. In numbers it is about 5 years now. I am an IT undergraduate where I see possible opportunities to promote openSUSE and as the editor of the leading magazine I have enough opportunities. Therefore I would like to be an ambassador and get maximum support from the openSUSE and be little official with the project. My user page on openSUSE is http://en.opensuse.org/User:Bckurera Region - Asia Pacific Country - Sri Lanka City - Negombo Hope you all help with me, please send any idea you having that ll help me to make this effort easy. And i like to have some interview with people who worked har to make openSUSE better, so please contact me I can arrange an interview. See you all. -- Regards, Buddhika Chandradeepa Kurera -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+help@opensuse.org

Personally, Good to see someone new from APAC :-) Welcome. I participate from India. There is an event FOSS.in (1) which will be happening in India in another month and if you can afford to travel, you can get to meet some of the openSUSE contributors in person, who are working from Bangalore, India.
