[opensuse-marketing] Proposal about Structure
Hello Mates, today i've an Idea about our new Ambassador Program. In the weekly News, we have one representant for each Translation Team. The so called "Coordinators" are managing their local Needs, and give us ( Jan & me) an Feedback. So my proposal is, that we can break the Earth in some Zones. Maybe North, Middle and Southamerica, Europe Middle East, and so far. So we can declare some Ambassadors as Coordinators for one Zone. Every Ambassador works for this Zone, and hold Contact to the local Ambassadors. -- Sincerely yours Sascha Manns openSUSE Marketing Team openSUSE Build Service openSUSE Features Screening Team Web: http://saschamanns.gulli.to Project-Blog: http://lizards.opensuse.org/author/saigkill Private-Blog: http://saschasbacktrace.blogspot.com

In the future when we have much more Ambassadors all over the world, I think it would be helpful to have 'Coordinators' for each region. However, which do you think better, coordinators for each 'Zone' or for each countries ? IIRC, most Latin American people except Brasilian speak Spanish, but there are many different languages in European/Asian countries. It's very difficult for Japanese - for example - to figure out what are going on and are needed in the communities in Indonesia, India and other countries in Asia, and vice versa. So, If we need to have 'Codrdinators' for each region, I think they should be 'Coordinators' for their countries first, and if needed, 'Zone Coordinators' can be selected among those 'Coordinators'. However, this makes Ambassadors program much more hierarchic, so I think we should discuss this subject furthermore. By the way, we've been talking about the Ambassador program for some time past and some opinions, proposals and ideas are posted to this -marketing list. Now I'm afraid that those discussions are scattered and lost. Therefore, I made the page for brainstorming. http://en.opensuse.org/Ambassador/Brainstorming I've picked up some items for the page from previous posts, but I can't follow all of them. So, please add the items by yourself if there are some proposals/ideas that you posted to the list already but can't be found in the page. Of course, adding new proposals/ideas are very welcome. Once the page is filled with reasonable amount of proposals/ideas, I think it would be the time to have a meeting to discuss about those proposals/ideas.
