Did you report to KDE?
When reporting it helps a lot if you can supply the file that makes it crash. And if a fix is available, please report back to openSUSE in order to get that fix into the official packages! Sven Sven,
If I knew the answer to that, it'd be great. I suspect kffmpegthumbnailer-1.1.0-1.5.x86_64 kdemultimedia4-thumbnailers-4.7.2-3.1.5.x86_64 libffmpegthumbnailer4-2.0.7-1.5.x86_64 ffmpegthumbnailer-2.0.7-1.5.x86_64 But it seems to be some interaction between those and Dolphins Info Panel -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde+owner@opensuse.org

Does the crash happen when you hover a file? If so that file would be important to reproduce. Sven -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde+owner@opensuse.org

Sven Well yes But the file is irrelevant IMO Any Video file will do it. The connection is the Info panel in Dolphin Because if I take the panel away there is no problem -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde+owner@opensuse.org

Ok. Since those packages are from packman there is not much openSUSE can do about it. You can report it at bugs.kde.org and refer to the ffmpegthumbnailer package versions. I do not have those packages installed and dolphin does not crash for me when hovering avi files. So either it's dolphin/strigi's fault or the ffmpegthumbnailer's. Or the package you are using was not built against the KDE version you are using it with.
