[opensuse-kde] Volume Status on KDE Plasma Workspace
Hi Listmates, What is it[0] called in KDE vocabulary? and what package that provides it on openSUSE? Thanks in advance. [0] http://goo.gl/YmotE , it is triggered by pressing Fn+F11/F12 key (hotkey on my ASUS EEEPC 1201T) Best regards, -- Andi Sugandi. The functionality comes from KMix (package called 'kmix'). The look probably depends on the plasma theme. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org

Yup,
The look probably depends on the plasma theme.
If the look come from kmix* and plasma theme (/usr/share/kde4/apps/desktoptheme/), I can find the image (?) that displayed like on screen. *) rpm -ql kmix | grep png Best regards, -- Andi Sugandi. I just had a look at the source of kmix, and the icons used in the OSD are audio-volume-high, audio-volume-low, audio-volume-medium and audio-volume- muted from the current icon theme. The actual bar is painted dynamically by plasma, so you won't find a png of that. The class is Plasma::Meter, maybe some theme somewhere lets you customize it?! Unless I'm missing something important, the osdWidget gets displayed unconditionally, so it doesn't appear possible to disable it. I hope I'm missing something Anders -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org

Best regards,
It is the indication of the volume of your loudspeaker. I get the same when I turn the volume dial on my laptop or when I press the volume up/down keys on my Logitech keyboard. -- fr.gr. Yes, and what should we (officially) call it? Is there any documentation on *.kde.org about it? Best regards, -- Andi Sugandi. The generic term for such displays is OSD (On Screen Display - yes, I know everything displayed is on screen, but that is really what those overlay type things are called) I can't find how to configure it though. I know it's generated by kmix, but it doesn't appear to have any settings for e.g. disabling it Anders -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org
