Software you have installed will still be there, but some settings may need to be redone (gui prefs, etc) Sounds like you may want to try the list I mentioned in my previous mail (but you may get complaints about incredimail unless you can get it to send "Plain text" suse-linux-e@suse.com Hope that helps - -- dh Don't shop at GoogleGear.com! -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.1 (GNU/Linux) iD4DBQE+hcyMBwgxlylUsJARAsY/AJjJ39LKRyfqmEMM1yRfyR01JaBRAJ0URBXC 6YSPThPDAqYGRLLBYaEHtQ== =Hpbk -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----

Just wondering if you updated the kernel. This is the first post of this thread that I read so if I'm off base I apologize. There has been much talk about problems with the kernel that shipped with 8.1. Or problems of how the kernel interacts with hardware that may have some problems. Try updating your kernel through YOU or apt. Plus there was a security vulnerability a few days / weeks ago, so it won't hurt to do it anyway. More info in the suse-linux-e archives under (I believe) blinking leds. Try going to http://www.netsys.com/cgi-bin/suse-linux-e and searching for that or just system freezes. There was also something about acpi and apm, but the kernel fixed my crashing problems. -- Franklin Maurer Using SuSE 8.1
