Re: [suse-kde] Unable to find settings in 10.0 KDE
Hi
Have tried that but there is little or no difference.
The cange becomes most visible in the (Blue) list at the top in my
firefox right now but the meny field and bookmarks toolbar and the
tabs are still with verry large fonts.
And if I start Azureus all the fonts in the program is verry large still.

Is there a setting so it changes for all the applications? Only see settings for separate programs and not all the settings I want. Used the GNOME before (and there all settings was OK) but I wanted to try the KDE so I installed it today. Would really want to find this setting cause I like the KDE better so far. Regards /Per
Have you tried the KDE Control Center? (Click on the Green SuSE Icon on the Desktop -- the Start Menu)
Then Go to Appearance -- Fonts.
Click on Adjust all Fonts. Set the default font, according to your requirements. Hope it helps.

Those apps are not KDE apps, thus the issue. Take a look at your xorg.conf, this is where you'll find the x font settings that apply to the non-KDE apps such as Azureus & Firefox. Joseph M. Gaffney aka CuCullin

Per,
The issue is gtk in combination with the correct setting of the dpi (dots per inch) you are using. Setting the dpi correct helps anyway. I am no expert here, but see http://www.mozilla.org/unix/dpi.html Another way to fix your fonts is to run the Gnome Control Center, click fonts, details and and make sure the DPI matches what you get in a console with: xdpyinfo | grep resolution Some people will tell you to run Gnome Control Center in KDE autostart but I don't think that is necessary if you fix the DPI. Make gtk behave properly can be solved in several ways: 1) install the gtk-qt-engine to make gtk similar as KDE (i like this the best but is is still alpha software) It installs "GTK Styles and Fonts" in KDE Control Center. 2) Use the gnome control center to set it again. But this requires to add the Gnome-settings-seamon (or such a thing) to run by adding it to KDE's Autostart folder. In the opensuse wiki you can find antries about this solution. 3) Enter information (the files ~/.gtkrc and ~/.gtkrc-2.0) in your home to make gtk listen to it without he former solutons. See the solution in http://ozzzy.dhis.org/appfonts.html Have fun with KDE, Peter Vollebregt
