By the installation of Linux 8.0, my wireless mouse (ps2 - Logitech) was deteced. After the reboot the mouse couldn't dedected. (Only a old seriell Microsoft mouse works) Why can't linux find the mouse? W.

Hi, as soon as the automatical configuration doesn't work, it's time to put hands on. You should have a look at the file /etc/X11/XF86Config. In this file is your configuration stored. Please note, that there is no Linux 8.0. I do not know what distro you use, could be SuSE Linux 8.0 or something else. But there is no Linux 8.0. In your XF86Config you will find something like the following lines (taken from my notebook): Section "InputDevice" Identifier "Mouse0" Driver "mouse" Option "Protocol" "IMPS/2" Option "Device" "/dev/psaux" Option "Buttons" "5" Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5" EndSection Maybe if you use the lines above instead of these in your config, it will be working. Before, simply post the lines from Section "InputDevice" to EndSection here. Note: When you modify your XF86Config manually, it could be that your Distro will reconfigure it the next time your system reboots. On SuSE, I recommend that you swith off hw-detection via the runlevel-editor.
