Hi all,
just a little heads up for (at least) 13.2 users. It appears that using btrfs as root fs (well, for /var/tmp/ fs) can cause problem with KSharedDataCache (i.e. plasma cache, etc) in form of crashes.
It is reported upstream as https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=340657 It is yet unclear where the bug lies, as there are similar problems reported for kernels 3.16.x - 3.17.1 on btrfs mailing list.
If you are using btrfs for root, and can reproduce the issue with 3.17.2 or newer, or you cannot reproduce after updating kernel to 3.17.2, please follow up on the bug report. Thanks!
Maybe anyone has actual btrfs-related error message? I had to use 'clear_cache' mount option with external ssd drive because free space cache was broken too often. Maybe that can be fast and dirty solution to this issue as well? -- Regards, Stas -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde+owner@opensuse.org
