Of course you can print. It will just submit the job to CUPS through LPR rather then using the CUPS server directly.
Oops, I forgot to add, you might have to remove the file:
~/.lpoptions
in order to do that.

OK, Charles, as you can see, I am using the newest KMail from the Kontact compile! Pretty neat with the new features. Don't understand everything yet, but those guys have been doing some work! I thought when I restarted KMail that the new Kontact screen would come up, but that was not the case as each program is still individual. Still can't print, so unsure where that is coming from at the moment. I will continue to research that problem as I get time. I did try to start Kontact though from the shell and get a window, but an error also. kio (KMimeType): WARNING: KServiceType::offers : servicetype Kontact/Plugin not found Of course, this apparently prevents me from using Kontact as there are no selections available from the menus in Kontact's window. Any thoughts on this problem? I may have to break down and learn CVS though as the new stuff is so much better, just have to compile my own for it though. :o) I do have a kdepim3-kontact rpm now though if someone else would like it as I did the checkinstall to build a i686 rpm file. It's a bit large though for modem users. Patrick -- --- KMail v1.5.9.1i --- SuSE Linux Pro v8.1 --- Registered Linux User #225206 On any other day, that might seem strange...
