I've tested Mozilla Thunderbird, and this "deletion" never occurs; but I am not so happy with Thunderbird, I would prefer Kmail. After that I've asked the admin of my provider, and he found out of the protocols that my client was it, which forced the deletion oy my emails at the server side. However, I never saw this protocol :-( ========== Ok, so T'bird works without problems then, so you know at this point

Have you tried renaming your kmail directory or it's config file so a new one is created to test if your configuration has gone to the dark side?
Why do you suggest this? Any background informations would be fine, because I like to understand what configuration failures (and I assume this "bug" is caused by a buggy configuration) might cause such an behauviour. -------------- Ok, renaming or removing your present KMail config file or directory will set everything back to a new setup. In this manner, you'll be able to test the fact that one of your settings is wrong for this account. I know you can set a filter to remove emails from the server without downloading, but it seems odd you would do that for all mails.
I always wondered if kmail had a feature such as this. I used a mailer on the Amiga that I could look at the headers of each mail before downloading or deleting on the server. It was very handy.
Again, some more infos to that...
Cheers
Alexander --------------------------------------------------------------------- If you knew the Amiga, you would understand better what I'm talking about. The email program allowed you to download only the headers of the emails, thus allowing you to see what was on the server before actually downloading the mails. You could then choose to delete the email from the server rather than download the mail. Very handy
