The problem was, that the file extension .tex was written with capital letters .TEX I copied the files from windows... Thanks Thomas Greetings Dirk

Hi everyone, i´m new to linux and have two question. 1. is it possible to acess my digital camcorder through firewire and extract the recorded videos without any additional hardware? 2. does anyone know a good freeware program for that? thx a lot axel

kmail 1.5.2: creating imap folders?

kdeprintfax with SuSE 8.2

Sirs, Please can anyone give me the command line under SuSE 8.2> kdeprintfax >settings> system. Having moved from Mandrake, all is going very well with my latest SuSE. That is except 'kdeprintfax', for in a word it won't. Via Yast I have set up fax with both CapiSuite and Hylafax Under efax the command line reads- /usr/bin/fax NAME=%user DEV=dev PAGE=page FROM=%from send %res %number %files Whether user or root I get the log returning the message - /bin/bash: /usr/bin/fax: No such file. Having checked that is correct but there is fax2ps, fax2tiff faxmail and faxrm. None of these work. I also tried capisuite and capifax without success. Further, I tried Hylafax with the command line- /usr/bin/capisuite -d %number %files that was as root. The response was - Sorry,your no valid user of capisuite. I tried as a user with /usr/bin/sendfax -d %number %files with the response Can't write to queue dir. Also tried /usr/bin/sendfax -d %number %files Anyone any ideas please. Malcolm Candlish.

I see that I can use the Filters option to call a command or pipe the message to a command. What I don't understand is whether the message text alone, or instead the entire message, would be piped to gpg. application/x-zerosize while printing via cups

While printing a document via kprinter, the latter complains that there is no filter for the document type: application/x-zerosize The document is just a regular html file (in konqueror), or a plain email. This happens on suse-8.2 with kde-3.1.2. Printing for suse-8.1 there are no problems. KDEsu problems

Hi to everyone. I am having SuSE 8.2 (KDE 3.1.1) , Qt 3.1.1, Greek locale. When i execute Yast2 via the KDE menu, KDEsu asks me for the ROOT passwd. That is fine. I check the 'Remember password' checkbox so that KDE remembers the root pass during the session. But when i close Yast2 and i re-run it, KDEsu still asks for the root password... Do u encounter the same problem under KDE 3.1.1 ? Can u reproduce it? I have tried to upgrade to KDE 3.1.2 with QT-3.2.0beta(or qt3.1.2) but the problem still persists. Any ideas? Thanks.

kile does not fine Tex file

I installed kile on suse 8.2 and kde 3. When I want to latex a file I get the message: Tex file not found. When I open a console the command latex file.tex works fine. So I think it has something to do with kile. What can be wrong? Do I have to configure something somewhere? Thanks Dirk
