[opensuse-kde3] 15.2 kshutdown dialog no longer shows "Suspend" as an option?

All, A few updates ago, the advanced shutdown dialog stopped showing the "Suspend" option on 15.2. It is still shown for 15.0 and 15.1. Now all I see is: I tried a paste.opensuse.org for the dialog showing only 3 choices instead of 4, but that is on the frits. Just picture the normal shutdown dialog you get after you Right-Click the desktop and choose "Log Out", but without the "Suspend Computer" option. Can anybody else confirm? -- David C. [opensuse-kde3] Updates remove "Embedded Advances Text Editor" - "Preview In" option - Reason found.

All, If you have updated kde3 with packages with build 216.1 for kdelib3, you will notice in konqueror filemanagement that "Preview In" no longer has the option to view text files in the normal "Embedded Advanced Text Editor" I submitted bug: http://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1172692 The problem is somebody mixed TDE and openSUSE KDE3 code resulting in /opt/kde3/share/services/katepart.desktop containing code for X-TDE instead of X-KDE..... Hopefully this will be fixed shortly. You can just copy an old katepart.desktop and rebuild the cache kbuildsycoca --noincremental and then log out/in and it will be restored. -- David C. [opensuse-kde3] Help find cause - menu on first click display approx 1 in. above taskbar - fine on subsequent access

All, This is a very, very old problem I'm trying to chase down. When kde first starts (or you use kmenuedit to update the menu), the first time you press the start menu button to access the menu, the menu is drawn about an inch (or one taskbar height) above the taskbar instead of immediately above the taskbar. This is some combination of settings that causes the issue. I have seen this since kde 3.5.10 was released and I can currently reproduce the issue on 15.0 - 15.2 ... BUT ... on other 15.0 - 15.2 installs this issue does not occur. Most of the time I copy a bulk of my ~/.kde/share/config and ~/.kde/apps and any autostart scripts. So I'm somewhat at a loss what combination of settings leads to this behavior. I even have some virtualbox guests that exhibit the problem and others that don't -- eliminating any display driver or other potential hardware consideration. Other than going through the config files one-by-one between machines that do/don't have the problem and restarting the desktop between each change -- I'm not sure how to narrow the problem down. Anybody else see this? Anybody have any thoughts on how to track the issue down? -- David C.
