openSUSE 12.1 x86_64 3.1.0-1.2-desktop GNOME3 3.2.1 I have an external USB CD/DVD drive. This drive has always 'just worked' in openSUSE 11.3 & 11.4. However, under 12.1, the drive doesn't seem to participate as a removable storage device. It does not appear in Nautilus when a disc is inserted or raise any prompt when a blank disc is inserted. My user is a member of the "cdrom" group. lsusb - Bus 001 Device 011: ID 152e:2507 LG (HLDS) PL-2507 IDE Controller If I power-on the drive I see the following in dmesg - [94696.818181] usb 1-2.6: new high speed USB device number 11 using ehci_hcd [94696.913434] usb 1-2.6: New USB device found, idVendor=152e, idProduct=2507 [94696.913439] usb 1-2.6: New USB device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=3 [94696.913443] usb 1-2.6: Product: Super Multi Rewriter [94696.913445] usb 1-2.6: Manufacturer: HLDS Inc.
