This seems plain wrong, given that G:S has half of the packages failing building, but before removing it, better to ask. For G:U, we have the GNOME:snapshots:* projects using it, so will change that as soon as we remove it. Hello, Just a quick note that we need to discuss our repos... We have been updating latest GNOME in GNOME:Factory:Next (G:F:N) for a while now. We need to merge these changes into GNOME:Factory (G:F). My questions; 1. Should we copy all packages from G:F to a GNOME:Stable (I think we have a G:S but don't know the state of it. We might want to start from scratch here) and then update to 2.24.3 2. For each GNOME . release (2.25.4, 2.25.5 etc), should we do a complete update in G:F:N and then later merge them to G:F (Makes it possible to use G:F as a 'stable development' branch) 3. Should we not do 2 and instead move G:F:N to GNOME:Unstable (again, I think we have G:U and again, perhaps we want to start from scratch) Other questions I forgot? As a reminder, this week's openSUSE-GNOME Team meeting will be held at the standard time of 17:00 UTC on Thursday, January 15th, 2009 in #opensuse-GNOME on freenode IRC network. In continuing with last week's very successful and interesting informal meeting which focused on reflections of the past and where to go forth in the future, we will discuss goals based on the subjects we discussed last week. Again, this will be a generally informal meeting not following a specific listed agenda in order to encourage the free-flow exchange of ideas as we saw last week. We will likely return to our regularly structured meetings next week. We hope and encourage everyone to come by tomrrow and offer up their comments and insight to this important meeting that will set forth our actions for the year. Regrettably, I will not be present at tomorrow's meeting, but JP Rosevear has graciously agreed to moderate tomorrow's meeting. Gentleman, I would like to know what we can do about moving forward on the problem of the "Sabayon GUI"(aka user profile editor) not functioning. To be clearer , the gui itself runs and seems to be fairly stable, the problem is that none of the modifications to the desktop are saved. I would like to use, and include instructions for parent to use this, to create individualized age appropriate desktops for their children. This would also be a key feature to help opensuse\SLED replace k12ltsp and Ubuntu in the classroom. So, Morten said I could forward this. I think it's a highly useful data-point for hacker adoption. I imagine indexing .c files is a waste of time with beagle, it's for documents - and worse huge, deep source code directory hierarchies - just loading all those dentries & inodes blows your cache and makes ~everything else apparently 'slow'. Until we get a better underlying fs this will always be a problem I think [ btrfs ]. eg. my $ time ls -Rl ~/kde/sources - took: real 2m11.770s user 0m0.928s sys 0m3.824s I guess we need a feature to prune all sub-directories of things that look like top-level source-code / project directories.
